Global Executive Program for Egypt and Jordan

Project Objective: 
<p><span>a collaborative program between the Arizona State University College of Technology and Morrison School of Agribusiness and Resource Management, the Emerging Markets Instituteand other Southwest American organizations, which are responsible for managing Food Safety, Security, trade development, Monitoring and Trade training and issues. &nbsp;The purpose of the program is to enhance the skills of Private sector managers o market, merchandize, and promote specific U.S. beef cuts and poultry meat.&nbsp;Priority areas of study could include marketing, increased knowledge of the U.S beef and poultry industry and related regulations, exposure to suppliers/exporters of U.S. beef and poultry, export procedures, slaughterhouse site visits, cold chain, and quality control issues. Egypt and Jordan managers of Bio-security and Food Safety of state-owned, cooperatives and emerging private institutions, as well as important government and academic officials from the food industry and wellness areas. The team will also highlight the WTO issues and their focus in food security and safety.&nbsp;It will use materials developed by Homeland Security, FDA, USDA, HHS, and the U.S. Food Safety Center, the European Food Safety Authority, and, and other key trade and MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICAN TRADING REGIONS. &nbsp;organizations. The course is conducted in English. The course develops linkages to both the public and private sectors and assists Egypt and Jordan officials to expand trade and economic opportunities for Egypt and Jordan Food Safety, Security, and Monitoring. It will add to the Egypt and Jordan&rsquo;s food safety understanding of the U.S. and Europe. ASU has worked on several meat sales program with Halai Meats. <span>The terms&nbsp;<i>halal</i>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<i><a title="Haraam" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haraam"><span>haraam</span></a></i>&nbsp;are applied to many facets of life; and one of the most common uses of these terms is in reference to meat products, food contact materials, and pharmaceuticals. In Islam there are many things that are clearly halal or haraam. </span></span></p>
