The Safety Coordinator is responsible for helping to ensure the health, safety and well-being of our company employees, subcontractors, visitors and guests at site and/or client owned facilities. The Coordinator ensures compliance with federal, state and local ordinances regarding general safety and environmental policies as well as client and company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensures a health working environment by minimizing job and job site related potential risks and hazards. Supports and promotes safety and environmental awareness for our employees and our clients. Ensure there are no adverse environmental impacts or discharges generated by company activities. Acts as a resource person to support safe crew operation.
Must be familiar with and understand proactive and reactive safety processes.
Responsible for preparing and participating in safety audits conducted by Superior’s customers and/or their representatives
Responsible for attending all safety related meetings and following all safety regulations and guidelines as defined by Superior and/or its customers
Conduct safety meetings and field audits.
Ensure all employees of the site are 100% trained.
Incident investigation reporting and prepare RCA’s.
Ensure inspections of all equipment are completed for and insure it is up to date and equipment is in proper working order.

ESSENTIAL ABILITIES: Must be able to work well with people. This includes workers, supervisors, clients, customers and regulatory agency personnel. Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in written format. Must able to effectively deliver training and instruction to adult learners when and as directed.

KNOWLEDGE BASE: Must possess working knowledge of CFR Rule 29 Part 1910 and part 1926. Must be familiar with construction and manufacturing industry operations and the General Duty clauses as well as Hazard Communication Standards. Candidate must possess PC computer skills including use of MS Office programs and have experience working in a professional office environment.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: The successful job candidate must possess, at a minimum:

• Associate’s Degree in safety
• Two years of directly related work experience
