Scott Somers

Dr. Scott Somers is a member of the Phoenix Fire Department assigned to the Special Operations Division. He is a toxicology paramedic and hazardous material specialist with Arizona Task Force 1, the FEMA-sponsored Urban Search & Rescue team. Dr. Somers is a faculty associate in the School of Public Affairs and the Department of Technology Management at Arizona State University. He serves on the Arizona Department of Homeland Security Coordinating Council by gubernatorial appointment. Dr. Somers has published materials on continuity of government operations, high-reliability organizations, and disaster planning and response.
