Dr. Nicholas R. Hild holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Management from Union Institute (Cincinnati), an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from University of Iowa, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Iowa. Before joining the Center For Environmental Studies at Arizona State University in 1983 as a Research Associate Professor, he was Manager of Chemical and Environmental Operations for Motorola Semiconductor USA ( 1973 to 1983). After starting both the seminar and academic programs on Hazardous Waste Management at ASU, he spent 5 years as Vice President and Principle-In-Charge of Western Regional Operations for Earth Technology Corp where he conducted many remediation and hazardous waste projects throughout the western U.S. He returned full-time to ASU to direct the Environmental Technology Management program in 1991 where he has since conducted research and teaching in the general area of environmental management and sustainable development. Grants/research for >$1M have been for projects in Sustainability & Sustainable Development: Brownfields (EPA) Redevelopment in Naco, AZ, Dairy Cattle Wastewater Treatment, and several smaller studies in the general environmental management area.
