The Graphic Information Technology Program offers undergraduate degree options with concentrations to fit a variety of backgrounds and interests.

 


Bachelor of Science (B.S.)

Student with camera taking a photoGraphic Information Technology offers a B.S. in Graphic Information Technology. This degree stresses the application of theories, concepts, and principles found in science, mathematics, the humanities, and the social and behavioral sciences to the field of graphic information.

Students study graphic content creation and management, materials and production processes, industrial management and human relations, marketing, and communications.

Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.)

Student drawing technical graphics on a computerThe Bachelor of Applied Science degree (B.A.S.) is appropriate for students who hold an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in an approved graphical area of study. The goal of the program is to provide management, leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills—along with significant work in a professional specialization—that will broaden your career horizons, promote life-long learning, and enrich your personal and civic life.

Individuals employed either full- or part-time in graphic-related industries are encouraged to apply. To accommodate B.A.S. students who are employed, many courses are offered online.

All degree programs in the Graphic Information Technology Program make extensive use of the Print and Imaging Laboratory facility where modern design practices and digital work flow combine with different print and reproduction processes to afford students a contextual learning environment. Students in GIT may further enrich their educational experience in the Student Web Development Enterprise, the GIT Commercial Photography Studio, or the X-Rite Color Metrology Laboratory.
