Electronic Engineering Technology Students and Alumni Testimonials

“I like how this school has a small school feel with the backing of a big school. I could get the best of both worlds, the individualized treatment but I still had the the ability to pull on all of the resources from all of the ASU campuses. Not to mention the research facilities here are top-notch.”

“The thing I like most about the EET programs is the sense of community among the staff and students, and the staffs' eagerness to help."

"The projects and real-world technical experience we receive through this department was exactly what I wanted for my B.S. degree.”

“What I liked most about the program: The great staff, the schedule of most classes fits into my busy life, the unorthodox approach of Dr. John Robertson, and Dr. Slobodan Petrovic's MEMS class."

Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology Students and Alumni Testimonials

"I transferred to the Polytechnic campus for the Mechanical Engineering Technology program with an Aeronautical Engineering concentration. My favorite part of the program was the practical application; it wasn’t just book work. ... My dream job is to work at NASA because I have always been fascinated with aerospace and flight, and I feel that my degree will help me to fulfill my goals."

"My instructors were the guys who I give all the credit to. ... It was their dedication that made us students work as hard as we did, all the class work, all the office hours, the hands-on projects, the big heavy books and those endless nights of working on take-home exams. Not only did the instructors act like teachers, but more like friends, and that type of environment made us take that extra step every day. To my instructors: I'm proud to be what I am today, you helped me build my solid foundation and made me a success, and for that I'm sincerely thankful!"

"In the short time that I have been at Boeing I have had the opportunity to utilize almost every aspect of my education from ASU. Engineers here are primarily independent, but working as a team on design projects is extremely important. The ability to focus at meetings as well as giving presentations is also key to doing well. The classes that required design teams and large projects were instrumental in preparing me for this job. A good attitude and ability to motivate yourself are also required to succeed. The professors help immensely since they all had industry experience and were able to pass on that knowledge."

"I feel that the engineering fundamentals that I learned while attending ASU’s Polytechnic campus gave me a strong foundation for building my career. The individual involvement and concern shown by the faculty and staff contributed greatly to my educational experience. Thermodynamics, heat transfer, material science, machine design and statistical quality control are among the courses that have greatly impacted my effectiveness as an engineer. I also feel that the senior capstone project was very beneficial in preparing me for the workplace by emphasizing the importance of working with a team in a real-world-type engineering application."
