Composite Materials Manufacturing Laboratory

The composite materials manufacturing laboratory provides students a well-equipped facility for both developing tooling and producing composite material parts. The laboratory provides materials, including various fabrics, layup components, frozen prepreg materials, as well as the manufacturing equipment necessary to produce parts by a variety of methods. Layup tables provide ample space for the students to do initial work on their parts. Fume hoods are available if room temperature layups require mixing of epoxies. In addition, vacuum tooling and pumps are available for both room temperature layups and oven cured parts.
