CAD/CAM Laboratory

The Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) laboratory consists of several different computing venues spread throughout the Simulator Building. Computers and a complete suite of software packages are located in well appointed classrooms of up to 24 machines, including an instructor’s podium. In addition, individual MMET laboratories have one to five computers with special software loaded to support student CAD/CAM activities.
CAD software packages include Solid Edge, Solid Works, the Pro-Engineer suite, and various MSC software packages (ADAMS, PATRAN, NASTRAN). In addition, LabView software is available to support measurement and instrumentation classes and projects. CAM software features SurfCam as the primary tool used by students and staff but other packages have been used on occasion for either evaluation or demonstration to students.
