Engineering Studios

The majority of engineering courses are taught in engineering studios. An engineering studio is a classroom and a laboratory combined into a learning and a creating space. Most studios are instructional studios and are organized around the concept of teams with stations for computing, designing, and problem solving in small groups. Instructional studios also are equipped with some testing, fabrication, and experimental devices.

There is also a larger open studio that is not scheduled for courses. The open studio has a variety of manufacturing, prototyping, and testing equipment that can be used for students to work on engineering projects outside of class. The studios are staffed with technicians that help students realize great projects. Engineering studios provide the capability for students to learn engineering by actually doing engineering every semester.
