Admission Procedure

Students must first apply to the Graduate College. This can be done online.

  1. Apply to the ASU Graduate College. If you plan to complete professional development classes only, apply as a non-degree seeking graduate student.

The Graduate College will not process your application until your application fee and all materials are received. When all materials have been received by the Graduate College, a package will be delivered to the department.

  2. Send the following items to the Department of Technology Management by mail:
  • Letter of Intent stating why you are interested in the program and how it will meet your professional goals
  • Current resume
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation
  • Transcripts with institution's name and degree granted date (unofficial transcripts [copies] are acceptable here). Note: If undergraduate mathematics and science credits were transferred, include those transcripts as well.

Send these materials in one mailing to:

    Dr. Thomas Schildgen
    Department of Technology Management
    Arizona State University Polytechnic Campus
6075 S. Williams Campus Loop West
    Mesa, AZ 85212

Applications will be reviewed once both the Graduate College and the Department of Technology Management receive all application materials.

The Graduate College office will not process applications until the required application fee has been received. Applicants will be notified of ASU graduate admission status by mail. Applicants will be notified separately of program admission by the chair of the Department of Technology Management. This letter will include any deficiencies or prerequisites.

Application Deadlines

The MST/GIT graduate program practices “rolling admissions” without specific deadlines. That means applications are acted on as they are received. Admission decisions are usually made within two weeks of all materials arriving at the Department of Technology Management.

Registering for Courses

Once you have been formally admitted to ASU and have been accepted into the Graphic Information Technology graduate program, you need to request an ASU e-mail account, because you will need your ASURITE ID and password in order to log on to online courses. This is a requirement. You must know your ASU nine-digit ID number in order to self-subscribe. Once this is done, you can log on to the ASU registration Web site and register for courses.

You will want to receive advisement before choosing your first courses. Contact Dr. Thomas Schildgen, Chair of the Department of Technology Management, at (480) 727-1005, or e-mail at ask.git@asu.edu.
