Secondary Education concentration
The concentration in secondary education qualifies students for the State of Arizona Certification in Secondary Biology Education. Students interested in pursuing this concentration need to complete both the science content courses related to biology as well as courses specific to the secondary education curriculum.
The secondary education program will conclude with full-time student teaching in a secondary science classroom.
What You Can Do With This Degree
Students can pursue research careers in biology and post-graduate, particularly in the areas of:
- secondary education
- wildlife ecology
- restoration ecology
- urban horticulture
The concentration also is designed for students planning to enter the teaching profession.
