Steps to Successful Degree Completion

  • Develop plans for achieving your academic, career and personal goals.
  • Learn the requirements for your degree. Read the relevant portions of the ASU Catalog.
  • Become familiar with the University and College policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Check My ASU on a regular basis to view your status and track your courses, grades and financial aid.
  • Be prepared when you seek advisement:
    • Have questions ready - know why you are there
    • Bring an updated DARS (Degree Audit Reporting System) report
    • Bring pencil and paper and any other relevant materials
  • Become familiar with and utilize the full range of campus and university resources.
  • Satisfy all requirements for your degree.
  • Keep an updated curriculum check sheet, major map or DARS report for your major and catalog year.
  • Seek information and assistance from appropriate sources as needed.
  • Be aware that your financial aid may depend upon your academic progress.
  • File a Declaration of Graduation no later than the semester in which you earn your 87th semester hour.
